This week in Paddington class we have been learning all about our five senses.
Today, each group were provided with some cups which had a secret smell inside. Their task was to use their sense of smell to guess what was inside each cup.
I wonder if you can tell your family what the 5 senses are?
Next week, we shall be starting our new theme ‘Who’s in the forest?’
We have put notices in the classroom windows to ask for the children to bring in some wellies on Monday.
As part of our immersion we will be going to explore the school forest and see what wonders we can find!
Thank you for your continued support.
It has been great to see lots of children using Phonics Bug and Mathletics!
If you have not used them yet, please see the websites below. Your login details can be found in the front of your reading record.
Give it a go!
Every Thursday, children in Paddington class have ERIS time (ERIS stands for…Everyone Reading In School). The children are allowed to lay down, get comfy, close their eyes, drink water and listen to a story. It is my favourite time of the week!
We read together, laugh together, predict what might happen next and even think about how the character might be feeling.
However, today (Friday) the children asked me the following questions…
‘When is it ERIS time again?’
‘Can I choose a book for ERIS time?’
‘Can we have ERIS time today as well?’
There was no way I was going to decline an opportunity to share another story, so this week we had ERIS time TWICE!
It just goes to show…children love books and we should always provide them with every opportunity to enjoy them!
Just a reminder that this Thursday it is the ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening.
Looking forward to seeing you all!

Paddington class will have PE on Tuesday (outdoor) and Friday (indoor).
Indoor Kit: white t-shirt, black shorts and plimsolls
Outdoor Kit: white t-shirt, track-suit***, trainers
***Your child will need something warm to wear when we go outside. If not a tracksuit, a jumper and jogging bottoms.
Could all children have their named PE kit in school this week.
We had a great few days in Paddington class this week. We focussed on getting to know each other and the Year 1 area.
Thank you to the children who brought in their summer learning about Paddington Bear. It was good to share your work with everyone.
Have a great weekend.
