Science! Science! Science!

Posted by on February 23, 2016

We love all things Science in Year 1!

Our new term started with a very exciting assembly with a real scientist Atomic Tom. What did you like best?

Then, we went back to our class and started our new theme ‘Growing and Changing’. We started to look at the different parts of a plant. Can you remember the four main parts?Write them on the blog- watch your spelling!

Today, on our tables we found the following things:  some soil, a pot, a watering can and a bean. We followed the adults instructions and planted the bean. Then, we had to write our own instructions. Even Mrs Fennelly visited our class and had a look at our writing. She said…

‘The children were all happy and writing independently’.

‘Good use of capital letters, finger spaces and full stops’.

‘Good spelling and use of phonics’.

WOW! what fantastic comments about our class and our learning! I have awarded the whole class with a dojo point and a whole class credit!

I have been so impressed with your enthusiasm for our new topic! I look forward to the next few weeks.

Keep up the hard work Paddington Class! 🙂
