I have thoroughly enjoyed this week in Paddington Class and have been incredibly impressed with the hard work and effort that has gone into each child’s presentation piece. The children have worked very had on their individual writing and art work to produce outcomes that they should all be proud of! Well done guys, we can’t wait to show them off on Friday!!!
In Maths this week we have been looking at subtraction and using resources such as numicon and number lines to support our understanding of subtraction. Additionally, we have been looking at shapes and the children enjoyed learning the different names and properties of shapes.
It was Paddington’s turn for forest school this week and we had great fun. To start forest school off the children were divided into two teams. Half the class became worms and the other half birds. The worms had to go hide different coloured worms in the forest, then the birds had to go and find them. This lead to conversations about the colours of the worms and whether this helped us to locate them. We then discussed camouflage and how animals use this to protect themselves from a predator. Additionally, the children created dens for themselves and other animals and enjoyed being in the forest school area.
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and is ready for the last week of term!
